myPod

As a birthday present to myself (yes, I'm 26 today...old ladyville if you ask my 7th graders) I got a new iPod to replace the one stolen a few weeks ago.

This one, though, is quite the upgrade-a 30 gigabyte video iPod as opposed to my older black-and-white model. Smaller, faster, better-and so it goes.

So there, take that you anonymous jerks who stole my old one.

"Don't get this one stolen, you big dork," Kelly told me on the phone tonight.

Sorry we haven't blogged in a while. I suppose us being in Nebraska explains why I haven't gotten the always-expected "why haven't you written anything?!!!!!!! People are ASKING why you haven't written on your blog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" e-mails I get when more than, oh, four days go by without a new post. Not much has been happening. We've been enjoying the gorgeous weather immensely. We've been boating on the Missouri River with my parents, and have eaten fantastic barbecue off my dad's grill nearly every single night.

I'd barely gotten over my jet lag when I had a sleepover with Mindi and Julie at Julie's house. We stayed up chatting until 4 a.m., and made the wise decision to go out for breakfast at Village Inn at 7:30 the next morning, thereby setting me back a few days as far as sleep goes.

Tomorrow we head to Lincoln, then Friday fly to St. Louis for several days. Yay! I can't wait. Kristin has promised me a fabulous night out at a piano bar where patrons will yell (skip this part, grandma) "You bitch, you slut, you whore!" at you. I can't think of a better way to belatedly celebrate my birthday with friends.

OK, enough for now. The Daily Show is on in three minutes. Jon Stewart is waiting!

    Kelly, you're mean!

I hope you had a good birthday, E! Sorry I didn't get you called. I was busy being a slave four Herberger's.

Erin, I'll give you the scary/HOTT old man who tried to seduce you at the bar if you can spot my typo in the previous comment! You may be celebrating the 5th anniversary of your 21st birthday but you still attract the coolest people.

Sure these guys can wish you a happy birthday, but can they all but guarentee you a little verbal abuse to celebrate getting old? I think not!
