



I found a few pictures of the fishing boats up in Amed. As you can see, they're not much more than an outrigger canoe. The seats aren't much wider than your butt and they can fit three people. This is what the local fishermen take out every morning and evening. You can charter one for a sunrise or sunset cruise or to take you out to a nearby wreck for snorkeling. It costs around $20 to charter. The fishermen don't usually use the sails, but opt instead for a small gas-powered engine that's not much bigger than a trolling motor. The first picture is one I took on our first trip to Bali in October of 2004. The other three were taken by Doug or Laurel when they visited us in March of 2005. We're really gonna miss that place.
