Every day is a winding road
And if said road is in Indonesia, it's likely to be extra winding and have random chickens, goats, people and angkots (the public transport minibus of death) on it. My parents have been here in Indonesia for a mere 24 hours and already they've experienced a number of adventures, including making some new friends at the airport and a whirlwind tour of Bogor to get US dollars exchanged into Rupiah. Madness!
I'm beyond thrilled to have them here, and am really looking forward to spending several days sunning and relaxing in Bali. Now I'm just waiting for the day to be over so I can go home and see them. Just two periods left, I can do it!
Sidenote...there are 15 minutes left of the lunch period, yet my English class has already set up camp outside my door, where they are shrieking and punching and doing whatever else it is teenage boys do when they gather in groups. Why? I don't want to see them until the bell rings! I tell them this, we laugh about it, they go away, but they always come back! Boys, it's Mrs. Erin's time to NOT BE AROUND YOU! Be gone! Oh well, at least they're a nice group of kids, unlike my faaaaaaaaaaaaaaavorite 11th graders.
