Monday, Monday
When I got home from school today, I wanted to pull my hair out. Our computer was broken (still is, but is currently messing with our heads by working at the moment...knock on wood), Indovision had shut off our cable because we changed payment method and they sort of forgot to send us a bill (which we couldn't pay if we didn't have), I couldn't teach in my room today because something in the air conditioning vents made it smell like dead fish and our school's fabulous Human Resources department had screwed something up with our monthly living allowance.
Sigh...
But now we have Indovision turned back on, after what I think was the most frustrating phone call Travis has ever made. It was probably best he got put on hold for 8 minutes at one point, it saved him from having an aneurism. Thank goodness for cheesy hold music!
To update on a few things, my parents were here last week and a bit of the week before. It was fabulous. We went snorkeling and deep sea fishing in Bali and we even saw dolphins! We had a wonderful time, though, and I think they did too. Now I'm counting the weeks until Kim and Mark and Kristin come to see us. Anyone out there think I can convince Kim and Kristin to get matching tattoos with me in Bali? Kim and I already have at least two each, so I'm not worried about her. It's Kristin that will take some convincing. Hee hee hee. :) (Kidding. Sort of!)
Travis and I made a tough decision this past weekend. We had originally planned to come home this summer from about July 2 through 21, but we have decided not to. Our reasoning is threefold (Kristin...as is the purpose of the box...): we have to come home next Christmas without a doubt and don't want to be strapped for cash, we want to have a nice savings built up for when we move home at the end of next school year and we want to travel Asia some more. We figured if we wanted a nice, nice savings we could either go home in the summer and Christmas and not travel anywhere else or we could just go home at Christmas and go places like Thailand, China, Singapore, Malaysia and/or India this summer for a few weeks, plus have the funds to go somewhere over October break next year. We may never be in that position again, to jet off to Thailand for an elephant trek or whatever for a week, so we figure we better take advantage of our situation while we can.
Like I said, it was a really tough decision. We're both OK with it, though, and I'm proud of us for that. Even two months ago I don't think I'd be OK not being home for a year, but somehow I am now. It will be hard, especially when July rolls around, but moving here was hard and I survived that...somehow!
Well, anyway, that's what's going on with us. I'd better sign off before the computer decides to not be on anymore! We hope everyone had a safe, happy and blessed Easter holiday.
Sigh...
