Getting Spoiled....
I just watched a show called Travel Spies on our Discovery Travel & Living Channel. It appears to be a show from the Travel Channel back home. Basically, they go all over rating different hotels. This time they were in Hawaii, checking out hotels in Maui & Oahu. In Oahu, they went to a 5 star hotel and stayed in a room that cost $400 a night. Erin & I were blown away. We forgot just how much less expensive hotels here really are. After all, you can stay in a 5 star hotel here for under $200 a night (in some cases, under $100) and in many places can get your own private beach-side cottage for around $75. The rooms on this show weren't anything special. In fact, if anything, they were a bit plain. It was just one of those little reminders about just how great things really are here and just how much sticker shock we're going to have when we come back home. I guess I've got to enjoy it while I've got it, huh?
P.S. - consider this an unintentional word of encouragement to come visit us! For those of you who already have, give a shout out! (Then consider coming back.)

ahh! 5 star hotels and four course dinners for less than the cost of McDonalds. If I could find plane fare for under $200 I might be able to afford to come back.

No...but you CAN walk into my classroom (AC set on "arctic") and lose at least one digit to frostbite within 10 minutes...
