^&#$(%&!!!!

I wandered out into the hallway just a few minutes ago and my ears were met with a strange, yet unmistakable, sound. “Frosty the Snowman” was playing, rather loudly, from somewhere nearby. The exact location of the song’s origin couldn’t be pinpointed, but…still. Yay for randomness.

Right now I’m using my two free periods today to work on some documentation for this stupid accreditation process we’re going through. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’d rather be busy putting sharp bits of wood under my eyelids.

So far as I can tell, this process has involved taking precious meeting time away from teachers, where we could be meeting to discuss students, our classroom practices, etc. Instead, we are separated into committees (because committees make EVERYTHING better!) and we spend our time doing “self studies” and typing up documents that use words like “analysis,” “synthesis,” “formative assessment,” and “dynamic.” God help me, if I see the word “dynamic” one more time I think I will scream.

Of course, given the bureaucratic nature of this accreditation excitement, I'll probably have to fill out a form so that my screaming can be properly documented, which could take a few weeks to process.
