E-cicle

In a few short days, I will be in Nebraska. Right now in Nebraska, it's 36 degrees Fahrenheit.

Right now I'm sitting in my classroom in Indonesia, where the air conditioner is set on Tundra. My room is always cold, but today it's worse because there are no students moving around to warm it up somewhat. Today it's freezing. I'm wearing capri pants and a hooded sweatshirt, with my school-issue cardigan tied around my ankles and feet so that I don't lose them to frostbite. I'm also drinking a very hot vanilla latte in hopes that I can keep at least some of my fingers.

I wandered into the hallway, which is outside, to try and warm up. This didn't work very well because today is uncharacteristically cool for Indonesia. It's probably 75 degrees outside. Seriously. I was glad I had my sweatshirt.

I'm not trying to brag to those of you in the midwest, or make you jealous of our nice weather. I'm just pointing out that I'm going to freeze in about 48 hours. I'm excited to see everyone, but I'm quite certain I'll be an Erin-cicle the entire time we're home.

All I say is there had better be snow, because just plain cold is pointless if there's no snow to play in.

On a happy side note, I'm posting a photo of the pretty snowflakes my beloved 7th graders made for my classroom a few weeks ago. The photo isn't great, but it's the best one I could get without laying on the floor. The guy who cleans my room was in there at the time, and he already thinks I'm a crazy white lady so I thought it best not to worry him any more.

Please come home. I got paint on my pretty purple Indo shirt from Bali. I'm sad. It won't come out. I also got pen on my Hard Rock Bali shirt this week- that's almost out. Still, a bad week for Indo clothes. Sad.
