Huh.

I have a coworker who is quite fond of asking vague questions.

"What about those books?" he asked me today, out of the blue.

(Previous questions include, "What about the students?" and "What about the chairs?")

I looked at him for a minute, then said slowly, "What...about...those books?"

"The ones I'd wondered about earlier?"

"Hmm," I said thoughtfully as several brain cells launched themselves out of my ears, plummeting to their deaths. "I guess I'm not sure."

My coworker laughed and wandered off.

Earlier this morning I had a similarly baffling experience with the same person. I was leaving Travis's classroom and passed this individual in the hallway. Before I had a chance to give any sort of greeting, verbal or otherwise, he spoke up.

"Yes," he told me, chuckling, and continued on his merry way.

Yes. OK, then. Yes indeed.
