If you don't have something nice to say...

Don't say anything at all.

So basically that's my way of saying I'm done blogging for the time being. I'm taking a hiatus because I really don't think anyone wants to read post after post of me complaining about how much everything sucks here right now.

Pretty much that's all that's going on. Right now I regret signing on for a third year like I've regretted very few things in my life. June cannot come fast enough, and I seriously hope things get better between now and then because I don't want to absolutely hate everything here when I leave.

I do like my students and the classes I teach them, and we have some good friends here, but aside from that I can't say there's a whole lot else about living in Indonesia that I'm enjoying. We can't come home for Christmas. We can't come home for the wedding of one of our best friends. Right now we can't even get water out of the damn faucet.

So there you have it. The only reason I'm posting this now is because I know some people get really irritated with us when we don't post a new blog, like, every single day, so before we start get through-the-grapevine complaints about not blogging enough, there's your reason.

Right now, I want to come home but I can't. Home and everything that goes with it are on the opposite side of the planet. That pretty much sums it up right there.

Nothing new or exciting or noteworthy is happening. When it does we'll let you know. Until then, go turn on a faucet and enjoy the novelty of running water for a while.

I just took a minute to check your blog - you deserve a break from blogging. I guess if I say anything, I'll say enjoy your kids, enjoy your teaching, try to let some of the 'stuff' flow off your back and out of your mind (right Mom - that's so easy to do!) No really, teach those kids all that you can. You and Travis are both unique, talented, caring individuals - continue to share that with your kids. They will grow from knowing you - and you will grow from the experience. That will be a win/win situation. Erin, when Dad and I think of all you and Travis have done in your 26 years - it amazes us. More than we will ever do. Make this a positive year for you - be there to teach those kids. You'll be home soon.
    I love,love,love you, Mom
